Broadstone Mill Affordable Art & Craft Exhibition

Commencing with a preview evening Thursday 12th March Broadstone Mill is hosting an Affordable Art & Craft Exhibition featuring the work of both resident and external artists.

The Affordable Art & Craft Exhibition will provide an exciting opportunity to spot fresh, new talent.  Wonder round the upper ground floor to see a broad selection of paintings, sculpture, photography, jewellery, textile and furniture design by up to 30 artists.

Wander round the Broadstone Mill gallery and studios and view original art and crafts on display.  There’s something that will appeal to everyone’s tastes and all budgets – everything is below £500!  Catherine Sheppard, Gallery Coordinator at Broadstone, said “We are excited to present such a variety of artwork in a unique location offering such value for money and a secure investment”.

The official preview evening will be 19.30-21.00 where work will be displayed in the gallery and in the studios, which will be open for the evening so that guests can view artists’ work and chat informally.  Wine and nibbles will be served.  The exhibition will then be running from Friday 13th March to Sunday 22nd March 2009, opening hours Monday to Saturday 10.00-17.00 and Sunday 11.00-16.00.

External artists exhibiting include pop art designs of ex-Coronation Street star Jane Tunicliffe, the delicate floral artwork of Karen Gilbert and the unusual recycled furniture designs of Jamie Ward amongst others.  Featured resident artists at the event include Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair winner Ruth Anthony, Lindsey Davies of Tricksy Pixie, Robin Smith of Minster Lane, Paul Exall of Spiral Designs and Samantha Jones of Ripping Yarns and Ellie Evans.

Location: Upper Ground, Broadstone Mill, Broadstone Road, Houldsworth Village, Stockport, SK5 7DL.

We look forward to seeing you there!
