STOCKPORT CREATIVE INDUSTRIES NETWORK RELAUNCHES

Stockport is home to one of the largest concentrations of creative businesses and practitioners in Greater Manchester and the sector now plays an increasingly important part in the life of the borough.  This growth is reflected in the development of notable creative hubs across Stockport including ones in Broadstone Mill and Vernon Mill and is underpinned by Stockport College as a respected centre for training and learning creative skills.

In recognition of this importance, Stockport Economic Alliance established Stockport’s Creative Industries Network back in 2007 and is now delighted to announce the launch of a new programme of events from March this year.  Events will focus on themes of topical and local relevance including business to business networking and speakers discussing collaboration and opportunities for working with tourism and sport.  The first event of the new season will be held on 9th March at Hat Works, featuring Liz Birkbeck founder of Millco - a multi-disciplinary ‘virtual mill’ incorporating designers, photographers, illustrators, branding experts and copywriters - and Simon Grennan an internationally acclaimed artist who has undertaken collaborative projects from Seattle to Berlin.

Stockport Economic Alliance has appointed independent project manager, Chris Lethbridge to develop the programme on our behalf.  Chris brings with him a wealth of experience of working with the creative industries sector.  For further information on the network and to register your interest in the network please contact: chris@chrislethbridge.co.uk
