History of Victoria & Elisabeth Mills

Drawing of Victoria and Elisabeth mills

Former cotton mills Victoria & Elisabeth Mill were built by Sir William Henry Houldsworth’s company, the Reddish Spinning Company. Originally known as Reddish Mills, they were designed by the famous cotton mill architects Stott & Sons.

Developer Millshomes led the redevelopment of Victoria Mill to accommodate 180 award-winning studios, apartments and penthouses. Work has begun on developing 120 apartments in adjacent Elisabeth Mill, with completion due Summer 2009.

Future development is planned for the conversion of neighbouring 1970s-era Friedland Mill into 80 exceptional apartments.
